Church Officers

The churches must learn humility as well as teach it

Senior Pastor Donat Boucher

Galatians 2:20  I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh  I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

Our History

Nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us that is in Jesus Christ our Lord

Word of Life Community Church exists today because of the faithfulness of many Christians through the years and the vision that God gave Pastor Donat to share His love with the people of Fall River, MA.  The below is a summary of Pastor Donat’s life as a Christian and how it led to the beginning of Word of Life Community Church.

In 1994, Donat Boucher accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.  God made Donat quickly realized the importance of studying the Word of God and the power of prayer in one’s Christian life. Therefore, in addition to performing his responsibilities as a loving husband and dad of two children, Donat found time in his daily schedule to study the Word of God. God brought together some men and together they started a weekly men’s prayer meeting at his home in Fall River, MA of which God was extremely faithful in answering the prayers of many people’s needs.

God revealed His plan to Donat while in study and prayer. God made it evident to him the importance of telling others the “good news” that God loved mankind so much that He sent His Son to die for the sins of all mankind so that those who put personal faith in Jesus Christ would spend eternity with Him (John 3:16). Donat, therefore, became involved in various outreach ministries to share this “good news” with others. One outreach ministry he joined was a street mime ministry, a ministry where the art of mime was used to explain the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ to people on the streets and at parks. Another outreach ministry was sharing the “good news” through a bus ministry; a ministry where children in Fall River, MA were picked-up on a bus and brought to church to learn about Jesus Christ.

Several years later, God gave Donat a vision to reach more people in Fall River, MA with the “good news”. Donat, therefore, began a door to door ministry called “Campaigning for Christ” out of obedience to God, in which Donat, the ministry leader, Lorie (his wife), and other Christians knocked on the doors in Fall River each Saturday and shared the “good news” with anyone who desired to hear it. God blessed this ministry tremendously giving many people the opportunity to hear the “good news” and accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

God later led Donat to began an inner city ministry outreach where he began teaching the Word of God at a youth facility for struggling teens; he did this for 7 ½ years. he also became involved in a prison ministry where Donat taught the Word of God to people in maximum and minimum security at an adult correctional institute. While involved in ministry, God impressed it upon Donat to increase his knowledge of the Word of God and his relationship with God. He enrolled at New England Bible Institute. After completing 4 years of theological study, he graduated with honors and received a diploma in theology.

In September 2003, God led Donat to pastor South Baptist Church in New Bedford, MA, of which he was ordained shortly afterward. After seeing God move in youth and adults alike through the years, Donat continued to serve at South Baptist Church for 3 ½ years.

Believing it was the Will of God to begin another ministry work in Fall River, Donat humbly resigned from South Baptist Church. He began a home church in March 2007; this is where Word of Life Community Church was founded. Word of Life Community Church became a recognized Corporation in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in November 2007.

After having served in Donat’ home for approximately one year, God blessed the church with the finances necessary to rent a small building at 75 Ferry Street, Fall River.  Word of Life Community Church resided at Ferry Street until October 2011.  By this time, the church had outgrown the building size due to the increased number of people that God led there to become part of this church’s family.  Word of Life Community Church, therefore, temporarily rented space at 70 Water Street, Fall River until November 2012.  It is at this time that God blessed the church with finances necessary to purchase a beautiful building located at 1647 Robeson Street, Fall River.  This building (previously a synagogue) is currently where God is using Donat and many other faithful people to humbly serve God each week and to grow in His grace and knowledge.
